Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram Celebrated at Raj Bhavan

Lucknow, February 20, 2025 – The Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram was celebrated at Raj Bhavan under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage, religious beliefs, and natural beauty of both states through a special documentary screening, cultural performances, and exhibitions.

Encouraging the artists and participants, Governor Patel emphasized that India’s cultural diversity is its greatest strength. She stated that such events promote the exchange of traditions and strengthen national unity. She praised the vibrant culture of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram, highlighting the enthusiasm with which the people of these states express themselves through dance, music, and folk traditions.

Speaking about Arunachal Pradesh’s breathtaking landscapes, the Governor mentioned its majestic mountains, waterfalls, and rivers, which provide an unparalleled experience. She acknowledged the rapid progress of the state despite its challenging geography and lauded the Indian Army’s vital role in the region. She also paid tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers, emphasizing that their dedication to duty, often at the expense of personal comforts, should always be remembered.

During the event, a documentary prepared by Raj Bhavan was screened, highlighting the religious, cultural, and natural aspects of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. An exhibition was also organized, featuring prominent figures from both states, traditional attire, musical instruments, historical monuments, and renowned landmarks. The Governor visited the exhibition and appreciated the showcased rangoli art, traditional handicrafts, and historical heritage.

The program included captivating folk performances representing the cultural vibrancy of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. These performances featured the Rikhampada dance, Lion dance, Cheraw dance, flute recitals, and group folk dances, immersing the audience in the traditions and artistic expressions of the two northeastern states.

The celebration at Raj Bhavan not only honored the foundation day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram but also reinforced the essence of India’s unity in diversity.
